Look on the internet for Calabacita recipe. Sure there are as many versions as there are people. One of those things you make to suit your taste. Never another cafe like Martinez Cafe. Best there ever was.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4439969878323457212.post-69858031586660159442012-02-21T23:38:33.436-06:002012-02-21T23:38:33.436-06:00You know how it came about that I call that Indian...You know how it came about that I call that Indian Corn? Debbie and I were talking about the old Martinez's Cafe and what we remember as the most wonderful food on earth. We were trying to figure out what was in that corn dish and then we decided it was a Native American Indian dish because corn and squash are two of the three sisters the Anasazi's planted together. Debbie thought it was suppose to have green chilies in it too but my kids preferred it without when they were little...although of course green chilies make everything better. I'm glad to know what it is called and what is really suppose to be in it. :)Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17587660021794374929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4439969878323457212.post-64756946924766819992012-02-21T15:20:20.566-06:002012-02-21T15:20:20.566-06:00What is Mexican squash? Throw in roasted diced green chili and some grated cheese and it will really spice it up. To add a few more calories cook that in a little bacon grease and watch the flavor come alive. Calabacita is actually a spanish word meaning "little squash". We always use Mexican squash and never peel it. It is interesting to see how different we all cook. Glad to know that there is a "gringo" version out there. I might actually try it someday. I love you baby sister!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4439969878323457212.post-69070460038703180092012-02-21T03:12:58.609-06:002012-02-21T03:12:58.609-06:00Yes, you did! I love to do crafts but don't have the money to do them so for me it is pretty much just window shopping but I find it terribly relaxing. When I worked at the library I worked in the children's dept. Besides storytime and school visits i did alot of craft things with the kids. Also got to do displays and just a lot of creative things that I miss so much. LOL! I have a board of porches that there is no chance in the world I will ever have but I like to look at them. BUT.... don't you have an ETSY store? I know you sell the t-shirts. I have seen some people mentioning their Etsy stores. Might be a good way for you to network and sell some T's.Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17587660021794374929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4439969878323457212.post-33515615352695538612012-02-20T18:22:01.013-06:002012-02-20T18:22:01.013-06:00I'll have to try the humming thing... Every now and then, however, I do read (or hear of) something worth trying. And at least it couldn't hurt, and might actually be pleasant.

At this point, anything that will reduce some of the sinus pain!

I've just started up with pintrest, but just really don't "get it". I suppose if I were doing more craft work, I'd be more involved in it. Right now I'm just pinning a lot of internet cartoons and some of the books I'm reading.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02474434988848889088noreply@blogger.com
